• Description: Waterloo East Theatre is the brainchild of ‘award winning’ producer Gerald Armin who, out of frustration of trying to find a viable theatre space to take risks on new exciting productions, as well as an affordable space to offer to other new producers to hire, decided to find his own space to do this in. He discovered the unused railway arch in April 2009 and, after almost a year of red-tape, signed the lease on March 2, 2010. The work began on March 7 and finished just four months later! The venue comprises a flexible acting and seating area that can accommodate up to 120 seats. It has a bar, box office, and three dressing rooms. Waterloo East Theatre receives no funding and the build has been privately funded by Gerald Armin and his two business partners, actor Aidan Dooley and producer Pat Moylan.
