Synopsis: War Horse is an adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's novel of the same name. Young Albert is heartbroken when his beloved horse, Joey is sold to the cavalry at the beginning of World War I and shipped to France. Joey is soon caught up in enemy fire and take him on an extraordinary odyssey, serving on both sides before finding himself alone in No man's land. But Albert cannot forget Joey and, still not old enough to enlist, he embarks on a dangerous mission to find him and bring him home. Told with puppets this is the most successful production in the National Theatre's history.
